Why do you need motor insurance? The most important thing to remember is that the Road Traffic Act laws do not permit you to use or allow your vehicle to be used on the public highway without adequate insurance and to do so may render yourself liable for prosecution. Additionally if you have an accident, fire or theft claim this could result in severe financial losses for yourself.

Third Party Only Cover (This is the minimum cover required by law)

This is the most basic form of cover available and does not provide any cover for your vehicle or property. It covers your legal liability for damage to property belonging to other parties, and your liability for death or injuries to other parties.

Third Party Fire & Theft Cover

This type of cover provides cover if your vehicle is damaged or lost due to a fire or theft claim (there is normally a policy excess which can vary). It covers your legal liability for damage to property belonging to other parties, and your liability for death or injuries to other parties.

Comprehensive

This type of cover provides cover if your vehicle is damaged or lost due to a fire or theft claim also covers the cost of damage to your own vehicle in the event of an accident even if it is your fault (there is normally a policy excess which can vary). Additional benefits with this cover can be Windscreen Cover, Audio equipment cover, Contents cover etc but this varies with different products which we can advise
you on.

Legal Protection Insurance

In the unfortunate event of you or your family being involved in an accident that was not your fault you may suffer losses that are not covered by a normal motor insurance policy and at Autolink Direct Ltd we strongly recommend and can arrange Legal Protection insurance which would deal with these losses and pay up to £50,000 towards dealing with such an event (see our section on legal cover).
